EMDR, Brainspotting, and
Somatic Experiencing Intensives

Why would you consider an intensive therapy session?

  • You want accelerated healing and relief, and you want it now.
  • The thought of fitting weekly sessions into your packed schedule overwhelms you.
  • You need therapy that’s flexible.
  • You have insight, and cognitively, things make sense, but your body hasn’t caught up with what you know – you can’t shake the intense feelings.
  • You love your therapist and don’t want to end your work with them, but you both agree that EMDR, Brainspotting, or Somatic Experiencing would be beneficial, and they don’t offer that.

What is an intensive?

An intensive is an extended format specific to your targeted treatment goals. Working in an intensive format supports an accelerated timeline toward relief.

Focused treatment for a longer duration per session, without interruption by issues that emerge between weekly sessions, creates the opportunity for faster progress toward your goals.

Quicker resolution of symptoms is experienced by implementing EMDR, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing. These therapies support the brain’s and body’s natural abilities to heal themselves.

What makes an intensive different?

Time Efficient
Traditional talk therapy can take several months or even years when you follow a weekly timeline. EMDR, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing work with your nervous system to heal the root of the issue, while an intensive format allows the work to be done within a shorter framework of time.

Alternative Format
Life is busy. Committing to weekly sessions contributes to your stress rather than resolving it. You’re desperate to feel better sooner rather than later. In an intensive format, we will have more than the standard 50 minutes dedicated just to you. We will decide together which extended format is best for you.

Complementary to Talk Therapy
An EMDR, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing intensives program allows you to continue working with your weekly talk therapist. It’s completely understandable that you don’t want to start over with someone new. Intensives will deepen the therapeutic work you’re doing with them, and we will work together to support the integration of the intensive work into your long-term therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be able to use my insurance?
I can provide a super bill you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Your insurance company will determine reimbursement approval and rates.
Will one intensive session be enough?

After your intensive, we will meet for a post-intensive follow-up where we will discuss where you are in your healing journey. Many people feel their goal was achieved within one intensive. For others, such as those with complex trauma or with ongoing trauma, additional intensives or other therapeutic treatment may be recommended.

What if I’m currently working with a therapist?

You can continue working with your therapist!

EMDR, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing intensives are complementary to the work you are currently doing. As an adjunct treatment, they can accelerate and deepen your healing while adding value to the process you and your therapist are already accomplishing together.

How do I pay for my intensive?
When we schedule your intensive, a 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of scheduling, and the remaining balance will be charged once your intensive is completed.
